Inch by Inch, Row by Row

On Tuesday mornings we venture out to Prescott Farm for the Polliwogs program for preschoolers.  Prescott Farm is a local nature conservancy that offers various programs, camps, and special events for children and adults.  It is wonderful to have such a place so close to our home.

This week’s theme was “Spring in the Garden” and the kids got to listen the book Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert and then try and identify flowers in the garden that matched colors in the rainbow.  We then moved into the vegetable garden where we prepared the soil and planted onions.  Finally, each child got to plant beans in their own cup to grow at home.

I really do look forward to Tuesdays because I think the program is a great mix of fun and education.  I also love the fact that both the kids take long afternoon naps on Tuesdays!
